Conditions We Treat
Traditional Chinese Medicine takes a whole-person approach to health, supporting the body across a wide range of conditions. Below are some of the most common reasons patients come to DaBōK. If you don't see your specific concern listed, please reach out, many conditions respond well to TCM, even when they don't fit neatly into a category.
Pain & Musculoskeletal Health
Acupuncture is one of the most well-researched tools for managing pain. At DaBōK, we use targeted needling, cupping, and gentle movement guidance to relieve pain, release tight muscles, and speed tissue repair, addressing not just the symptom but the underlying patterns that cause pain to return.
Common conditions we support:
Back pain (lower, mid, upper)
Neck pain and stiffness
Shoulder pain, including frozen shoulder
Headaches and migraines
Sciatica
Knee pain and arthritis
Tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, and tendonitis
Sports injuries and post-surgical recovery
Carpal tunnel syndrome
TMJ (jaw) pain
General joint stiffness and reduced mobility
Whether you're a weekend warrior, an athlete, or simply tired of living with persistent pain, we'll work to restore comfort and function.
Stress, Sleep & Mental Wellness
When the nervous system is constantly activated, the whole body feels it: poor sleep, low energy, racing thoughts, and a sense that you can't quite settle. Acupuncture works gently with the body's regulatory systems to calm the nervous system, balance stress hormones, and restore the natural rhythm between activity and rest.
Common conditions we support:
Anxiety and chronic stress
Insomnia and difficulty staying asleep
Burnout and emotional fatigue
Mild to moderate depression
Mood regulation
Brain fog and difficulty concentrating
Tension headaches
Stress-related digestive issues
Many patients describe their first session as the deepest rest they've had in months.
Hormonal, Digestive & Metabolic Health
Hormones, digestion, and metabolism are deeply interconnected in TCM. When one is out of balance, others often follow. Treatment focuses on harmonizing these systems through acupuncture, herbal medicine, and dietary guidance, supporting the body's natural ability to regulate itself.
Common conditions we support:
Menstrual irregularities, PMS, and painful periods
Fertility support (natural conception or alongside IVF)
Menopause and perimenopause symptoms
PCOS support
Men's vitality and prostate health
IBS, bloating, and chronic digestive discomfort
Acid reflux
Appetite regulation
Thyroid balance
Respiratory, Skin & Recovery Support
TCM has long been used to support the body's respiratory and skin health, and to ease recovery from illness or medical treatment. Treatment works to open airways, clear internal heat, improve circulation, and support the body's resilience.
Common conditions we support:
Seasonal allergies and chronic sinusitis
Asthma support
Frequent colds and weakened immunity
Eczema, psoriasis, and chronic skin conditions
Acne (hormonal and inflammatory)
Hair thinning and scalp health
Stroke recovery (scalp and body acupuncture)
Speech and motor rehabilitation
Oncology support to ease side effects of chemotherapy and radiation
For patients in recovery, we work in close partnership with your medical team to complement and support your care.
What Sets Us Apart
Every treatment at DaBōK begins with careful listening and an unhurried diagnosis. We use pulse and tongue analysis, alongside a detailed conversation about your history and daily life, to understand the pattern beneath your symptoms. From there, treatment is fully individualized: no two patients receive the same plan, even for the same condition.
Our acupuncture follows the Heishui Method, the precise and nearly painless needling technique developed by Master Wan Cheng Liu. We also offer non-insertive Daishin, a traditional Japanese mallet technique that stimulates acupuncture points without piercing the skin, ideal for children, elderly patients, and anyone with needle anxiety.
